Nurse Assistant and Home Health Aide
Nurse Assistant
The Nurse Assistant course prepares you to take the Nurse Assistant certification examination. The course will prepare you to give basic nursing care in health care facilities. Instruction includes both classroom and clinical training with an emphasis on the philosophy of nursing, patient care procedures, safety, infection control, rehabilitative patient care, and communication within the healthcare team. Students must meet the minimum training hours in theory and clinical instruction. The course meets the requirements of the California Department of Public Health for employment in long-term health care facilities.
Home Health Aide
The Home Health Aide course prepares the Certified Nurse Assistant to become a Certified Home Health Aide. This course allows the home health aide to function as an entry-level worker on a health care team in a home health agency. Instruction includes both classroom and clinical training with an emphasis on the role of the home health aide, personal care service, nutrition, and care task in the home setting. Students must meet minimum training hours in theory and clinical instruction. The course meets the requirements of the California Department of Public Health.

Due to the limited size of the class, there is a selection process in order to enroll in the Nurse Assistant program. All prospective students must take a placement exam. Students who successfully pass the entrance exam will be notified by mail. |

Placement testing begins at 8:00 AM.

Only REGISTERED test candidates will be admitted to the Orientation and Placement Test session. When the testing session is full, the links will be removed.
